Airplane Multi Engine land
REQUIREMENTS
Be at least 18 years old
Read, speak, write, and understand English
Hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate or meet 61.73, hold at least a 3rd class Medical certificate
ENDORSEMENTS
FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(i) training within previous 2 calendar months
FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(ii) prepared for practical test
FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(iii) knowledge test deficiencies
Ground training FAR 61.125 (b) “Received and Logged”
Ground training FAR 61.127 (b)(2) “Received and Logged”
FLIGHT EXPERIENCE FAR 61.129(a)
Flight Time 250 Hours (Can include 50 hours from a CFI in FTD)
100 hours in powered aircraft, 50 hours must be in airplanes
100 Hours PIC including: 50 hours in airplanes, 50 hours X-Country(10 hrs. in airplanes)
FLIGHT INSTRUCTION RECEIVED
20 hours on 61.127 (b)(2), including...
10 hours of instrument training using a view limiting device, 5 hours of which must be in a multi engine airplane
10 hours in a multiengine complex airplane
One 2 hr. X-country in SE Airplane in daytime >100NM from Dept. Pt.
One 2 hr. X-country in SE Airplane in nighttime >100NM from Dept. Pt.
received and logged training time within the preceding 2 calendar months
SOLO FLIGHT TIME
10 hours solo or PIC with a CFI onboard including...
One X-Country of 300 NM Total Distance with landings at 3 points, one of which is at least 250 NM straight line distance from the original departure point
5 hours night VFR with 10 T/O and Landings @ Control Tower Airport

No Specific Hour Requirement for Flight Training
No Requirement to do a Cross-Country Plan for the Exam
FAR 61.63(c)(3) A person who applies for an additional class rating on a pilot certificate...“Need not meet the specified training time requirements prescribed by this part that apply to the pilot certificate for the aircraft class rating sought;”
SOLO ENDORSEMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CLASS RATING FAR 61.31(d)(2)
You may fly the aircraft to the exam once you receive a solo endorsement as specified in the above reference.
Bring a view limiting device if you are instrument rated, since you will be required to fly an instrument approach with a simulated engine failure during the exam.
